The Heart of Fundraising: Doing What's Right
Please join The Nonprofit Partnership as we welcome Gary Bukowski, Associate VP of Development at Sarah A. Reed Children’s Center and Certified Fund Raising Executive, on May 25th from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. for “The Heart of Fundraising: Doing What’s Right.”
Sometimes fundraisers have ethical questions that aren’t quite clear. Is it okay to accept a certain gift from a certain individual or company? What should be reported to your donors, staff and Board? What are the boundaries of your relationships to donors? This workshop is designed to help you create an ethical structure for your fundraising program that will help answer these questions. Gary will discuss how organizations can establish a code of ethics, review various case studies and ethical questions, and explore the values that your organization attempts to carry out in your daily fundraising efforts.
The learning objectives for this session include:
Establish an awareness of why an ethical culture is important to your organization and its mission
Learn to construct the basic building blocks of an ethical and value-driven organization
Become a champion of ethics at your organization and engage others to be champions
Internalize the importance of ethical fundraising in donor relations and building trust among your donors, staff and Board
This workshop is geared towards Executive Directors, Development Directors, Fundraising and Development staff, and Marketing staff.
The level of learning for this workshop is beginner to intermediate.
