Please join The Nonprofit Partnership and Lydia Laythe for a new 4-part opportunity: “Interconnected: Different Experiences, Shared Understanding” a series toward understanding the intersection between trauma and cultural sensitivity.
The goal of this series is to increase our community’s understanding of trauma & cultural sensitivity, so we can build a more resilient & inclusive community that not only welcomes diversity but embraces the diversity that is already here. And by fostering inclusion & resilience, we know we’re building a strong, productive, and vibrant community.
All sessions will take place via Zoom. Attendees are strongly encouraged to virtually attend all 4 sessions, live. Please let us know if there is a session you cannot attend and we will do our best to make arrangements so you can get the full experience!

Please join us for Session 2: Cultural Sensitivity – What & How? on Friday, February 12th at 10:00 AM!
The goal of this session is to establish shared understanding around the concept “cultural sensitivity” as opposed to “cultural competence” – why that distinction is important, how we put that into practice, and what that looks like for an individual on a daily basis and for policies and systems-level change.
- Culture is complex, diverse, fluid, and evolving.
- Working with diverse populations requires an ongoing commitment to cultural sensitivity.
- Cultural sensitivity involves self-reflection, curiosity, & humility.
