2020 has been a year filled with unimaginable tragedies, loss, and unacceptable injustices. America has faced a global pandemic, economic disaster and again we witnessed videos of policing injustices. These events sparked a profound awareness of the continued presence of systemic racism, racial injustice, and discrimination, and the need for substantial and lasting changes on important issues of police brutality, healthcare, and economic reform.

Our nation is now engaged in protests and conversations about these critical issues. This is a conversation that nonprofit executives and board leaders need to be a part of. These conversations are long overdue, and we cannot give in to our discomfort and allow this opportunity to fade away. This is a movement not a moment, we know that you have questions, ideas, and concerns. What is the nonprofit’s board’s leadership role and what can you do?
