PT Evening Receptionist

PT Evening Receptionist with the Corry Higher Education Council

The Corry Higher Education Council, a nonprofit facilitator of adult education and workforce training, is seeking a Part-Time Evening Receptionist. This position is Monday-Thursday evenings from 4:15 p.m. to approximately 8:30-9:00 p.m. during the school year and typically two evenings per week during the summer months

Evening Receptionist Responsibilities

Front Office

  • Answer multi-line phone system, answer questions, take messages
  • Assist walk-ins looking for information on classes, job search, etc.
  • Operate office equipment, including personal computer, fax, copy machine and credit card machine
  • Enter and maintain accurate records of Student Registrations and Building events (classes, meetings, etc.) in current software applications
  • Support Executive Director and Program Manager in completion of various reports, clerical needs, etc. as needed
  • Maintain accuracy of Master Schedule
  • Maintain open and professional communication with all students, instructors, tenants and visitors

Students and Classes

  • Assist with student registrations, payments and inquiries
  • Prepare start and end packets for classes (attendance, certificates, evaluations, etc.)
  • Communicate with students via email/phone as needed
  • Complete post-class recording tasks as necessary
  • Direct program participants and assist instructors as needed
  • Set up and attend to all required technology needed for instruction

Building Needs

  • Attend to the needs of users of building – copies, coffee, etc.
  • Monitor building climate control; heat/air-conditioning as needed
  • Follow all closing procedures and checklist as provided
  • Continuously monitor building activities, security and utilities

Interpersonal and Required Skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs; Outlook, Word and Excel with the ability to learn new software applications as necessary
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Able to work in a fast paced environment and able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Friendly, outgoing, capable of providing outstanding customer service
  • Clean and presentable in appearance; will be working with the public
  • Self-starter, able to work independently
  • Honest and trustworthy
  • Attention to detail - Listen, take notes and complete tasks without supervision
  • Must be a “team player” and able to work well with others
  • Must be able to work alone and close the building at night, oftentimes in the dark with no others around
  • Willing to take on additional tasks as requested by Executive Director and Program Manager
