Medical Technologist (ASCP, MLS) with Community Blood Bank of Erie County

Community Blood Bank of NWPA & WNY is in the business of saving lives, and this means a lot to us. We currently have the following open position: Medical Technologist.

Requirements: B.S. degree, ASCP, 6 years experience in field preferred. Component preparation and/or hematology experience desirable.

Nature and Scope: The position encompasses component preparation & modification of whole blood and required Quality Control/Blood component testing per FDA, Dept. of Health regulation & AABB guidelines. Must be adept in entering and retrieving data from the computer. Must be knowledgeable in AABB and FDA Standards in regards to component preparation and Quality Control Testing. In this position, the staff member will be on call in a rotating schedule and must also be able to work weekends in a rotating schedule. Staff member must also be able to work alone in laboratory during off hours or in the event of emergency needs.

Salary range: $43,000 - $52,000
