Host Homes Program Coordinator
Crawford County Mental Health Awareness Program, Inc. (CHAPS) is seeking a Host Homes Coordinator. The Host Homes Program is a short-term housing option designed to assist transition age youth experiencing mental health challenges and housing instability in our community. Duties include host recruitment, screening, training, support, and advocacy. This position involves supporting youth/young adults with matching them with a host, developing their Individual Service Plan, connecting them with other support services, and assisting youth with the identification of and connection to needed community services and resources, including permanent housing.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work or related human service field and 2 years experience in the field of social services, housing, community organizing, or other relevant work. Candidates with relevant experience in place of a BA may apply. Must possess strong interpersonal, communication and organizational skills. Ability and willingness to work in participant’s home, community and with other staff and organizations providing flexible supports based on the individual needs of the participants. Must possess the ability to set priorities and problem solve, as well as complete tasks with minimal supervision. Applicant must be trustworthy, compassionate, and empathetic.
