Finance/Accounting Director

Finance/Accounting Director with SafeNet

The Finance/Accounting Director provides is general oversight and financial management assuring proper internal controls, contract compliance, and budgeting. 

REPORTS TO: Chief Executive Officer

SUPERVISES: Fiscal Technician

1. Preparation of monthly closing reports including complex project based reporting
2. Prepare and maintain monthly accruals, cost allocation plan, balance sheet account reconciliation
3. Prepare billings for various grants in compliance with contracts
4. Oversee cash bank reconciliation and balance sheet account reconciliation
5. Assist in coordination of the annual audit including preparation of audit work papers
6. Review accounts payable
7. Track and bill for accounts receivable
8. Preparation of all financial information for the agency budget
9. Assist in the development of program budgets
10. Provide quarterly reports to the Finance Committee for the Board of Directors
11. Review and report on investments and endowments
12. Manage benefits; insurance, 403(b) and PTO
13. Meet with the Finance Committee of the board when requested
14. Prepares for audit and provides information for the auditors throughout the audit process
15. Immediately report suspected child abuse to Child Line and follow through with an Incident Report following established policy
16. Undertake miscellaneous projects and responsibilities as assigned by the Chief Executive Officer

1. Minimum BA with accounting major, CPA preferred 
2. Experience in non-profit accounting, a must
3. Ability to communicate effectively
4. QuickBooks expertise
5. Expertise in EXCEL 
6. Ability to plan, work independently, organize, make sound decisions, and maintain confidentiality
7. Must be willing to work flexible hours occasionally
8. Child Abuse and Criminal history clearances as required by PA Law 

EMPLOYMENT STATUS: Full-Time (37.5 hours per week)


Salary range: $1,500-$2,200 bi-weekly, based on experience
