Events Manager

Job Description

Goodell Gardens & Homestead is currently accepting applications for Events Manager.

The Events Manager oversees Special Events (fundraisers and festivals) and Private Rentals (weddings, showers, private parties, etc.) at Goodell Gardens & Homestead. The Events Manager meets with prospective clients, schedules rentals, communicates with clients through the planning process, and invoices for rentals. The Events Manager oversees the set-up and clean-up of Private Rentals and Special Events. Working with the Executive Director and Education Coordinator, the Events Manager coordinates special events (fundraisers and festivals) at Goodell Gardens & Homestead.

Qualifications:
Pleasant demeanor with excellent customer service skills. Ability to work independently required. Event Planning experience required. Excellent verbal and written communication and ability to handle cash, credit, or check transactions required. Demonstrated ability to organize events and then lead and motivate a team of professional staff and/or volunteers to execute events. Customer service, cashiering, or reception/front desk experience required. Sales experience is preferred. Must be available to work Friday evenings and Saturdays. Ability and willingness to work in all types of weather required. All employees of Goodell Gardens & Homestead are required to own their own foul-weather gear including a raincoat with a hood and waterproof footwear.

Must possess or be eligible for clearances: Pennsylvania State Police Criminal History Report, Pennsylvania Department of Human Services Child Abuse History Clearance, and FBI Criminal History Report.

Job Title: Events Manager
Status: Non-exempt, part-time, hourly position
Season: Year-Round: 20 hours/week June 1 – October 31, 10 hours/week November 1 – May 31
May - October Work Schedule: 5-7 pm Fridays, 8 am - 5 pm Saturdays, with flexible schedule the rest of the week -- some evening or Sunday hours may be required as needed
November - April Work Schedule: flexible
Probationary Period of 90 days from first day of work
Hourly Wage: $14-16/hour
Benefits:
Paid Bereavement Leave up to three days available after one month of service
Paid Holidays after one year of service
Paid Time Off = 5 days (20 hours total) of PTO after one year of service
Eligible for participation in a retirement program after one year of service

Salary range: $14 to $16 per hour
