BEST Grants Director
The BEST Grants Director will assist in the daily duties and activities of the organization focused on seeking and applying for funding that match the organization’s mission. Once grants are acquired, this position will be responsible for managing the data gathering, reporting, and preparing of materials for reimbursement from funders.
The successful candidate must be organized, detail oriented, and have good writing skills. A strong candidate would have experience in nonprofits, grant writing, grant reporting, but other experience will be considered. Leadership qualities, educational attainment and experience strongly desired; self-motivation and enthusiasm a must. A great sense of humor, compassion and an ability to enjoy a wide range of responsibilities and activities (work will include both office and field work) are also important.
Salary Range: $28-30/hr

The Bayfront East Side Taskforce (BEST) serves the Historic East Bayfront neighborhood from State to Wayne Streets, East Sixth Street north to the Bayfront, including Parade Street, Erie’s first main street. In the past 20 years BEST has undertaken a targeted neighborhood revitalization strategy; key accomplishments include: demolition of over 50 blighted properties; construction of 21 new owner-occupied homes; renovation of a formerly empty retail space into a commercial opportunity; and a neighborhood master plan to direct future revitalization efforts. Key partners in the revitalization are Erie Insurance Group, UPMC Health Plan, UPMC Hamot and the East Bayfront Neighborhood Watch, a grassroots organization of residents focused on making their neighborhood cleaner, safer and better for all.
