ACCOUNTANT
POSITION DESCRIPTION

PART TIME 8-15 hours/week

The Erie Art Museum is looking for an Accountant to manage all financial transactions, from accounts receivable/payable to bank deposits and budgets. Responsibilities include journal entries of transactions, reconciling bank statements, processing payroll and payroll taxes. This position provides monthly financial reports, budget vs. actual, balance sheet, and dashboard for accurate quantitative information on the financial position, liquidity and cash flow. The accountant is the primary contact with the auditor and works with the Executive Director in preparing the annual general operating budget and with the Development Director to streamline membership and donor management tracking. Other duties as assigned. Qualified candidates have previous experience with bookkeeping and strong attention to detail. Hands-on experience with Quickbooks accounting software, Square and online banking is preferred.

This position reports to the Executive Director of the Erie Art Museum. This position is part-time, approximately 8-15 hours/week. It is non-exempt, starting at $25/hr depending on experience.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Proficient in Quickbooks accounting software, Square and online banking.

Bachelor’s degree or commensurate professional experience with 3 years of experience in accounting.

Strong communication and organizational skills.

Enthusiastic self-starter able to see projects through from beginning to end.

Nonprofit arts organizations and/or arts background preferred but not required.

Salary Range: Starting at $25/hr depending on experience
