Domestic Adoption Intern

The Absolute Love Adoptions Intern will meaningfully engage and contribute to the strategic goals and initiatives of Absolute Love programs through the functional areas included below. This student will work directly with ALA staff members on projects linked to the areas below.

1. Assist with planning, management, and execution of programs,
2. Assist with preparing documentation and supplies for ALA programs and events, including, but not limited to, the Home Study/Post Placement, Adoptive Parent and Birth Parent programs,
3. Assist with collection, collation, and manipulation of ALA forms and data as directed.
4. Conduct interviews with hopeful adoptive families
5. Deliver support services to expectant parents including options counseling, transportation, resource brokering, interviewing and post placement support counseling
6. Outreach and networking to support furthering the program reach and ability
7. Social media content including blogs, graphics, posts
8. Assist the team with other office projects as assigned


Required Qualifications
Candidate must have:
1. Be pursuing a BSW or MSW
2. Ability to work independently
3. Interest in learning more about and/or have experience with adoption,
4. Research skills and oral and written communication skills,
5. Good organizational skills
6. Confidence to contribute ideas and suggestions and collaborate,
7. Must be able to maintain strict levels of confidentiality,
8. The ability to accurately gather and enter information into basic records, spreadsheets, logs,
9. The ability to verbally communicate and interact with clients,
10. Good academic and conduct standing at their university or program
11. Reliable transportation and appropriate car insurance coverage
12. Current clearances (Criminal, FBI, Child Abuse) and a physical showing you are in good health and free from communicable diseases

Successful candidate must be available for work during weekday business hours. Some evening and weekend work may be required.
