Gardens & Grounds Manager with Goodell Gardens & Homestead
Goodell Gardens & Homestead is currently accepting applications for Gardens & Grounds Manager.
The Gardens & Grounds Manager oversees all operations involving the gardens, grounds, projects, and site development. The Gardens & Grounds Manager also oversees the maintenance of gardens, grounds, buildings, and paths at Goodell Gardens & Homestead. The Gardens & Grounds Manager works with both paid and volunteer staff.
Qualifications:
Demonstrated ability to provide the utmost care for all types of plants, including trees & shrubs. Demonstrated ability to design landscapes – both hardscape and plant-scapes, walkways, driveways, other pathways, and layout of buildings. Proven leadership abilities, with demonstrated ability to manage and supervise a team of professional and volunteer personnel. Knowledge of power equipment including lawn mowers, tractors, golf carts, chain saws, and hand tools a must. Ability to operate heavy equipment like skid steers, backhoes, track-hoes, bulldozers, etc., a strong plus. Experience with building maintenance and familiarity with maintenance of old buildings and barns required.
Must possess or be eligible for clearances: Pennsylvania State Police Criminal History Report, Pennsylvania Department of Human Services Child Abuse History Clearance, and FBI Criminal History Report.
Job Title: Gardens & Grounds Manager
Status: Non-exempt, part-time, hourly position
Season: March 15 – November 15, up to 25 hours per week
Probationary Period of 90 days from first day of work
Hourly Wage: $14- $17/hour to start
Supervises: Gardeners, Garden Assistants, Gardens & Maintenance Volunteers
Benefits:
- Eligibility for Overtime at 1.5x for each hour over 40 hours worked per week = immediately
- Paid Bereavement Leave up to three days available after one month of service
- Paid Holidays = Good Friday & Independence Day after one year of service
- Paid Time Off = 5 days of PTO after one year of service
