Education Coordinator

Education Coordinator with Goodell Gardens & Homestead

Goodell Gardens & Homestead is currently accepting applications for Educational Coordinator.

The Education Coordinator oversees, develops and executes all educational programming at Goodell Gardens & Homestead including but not limited to field trips, workshops, and informational signage. The Education Coordinator works collaboratively with staff and volunteers to meet the annual goals and mission of the organization.

Qualifications:
Education or programing program experience including curriculum/program development and implementation required. Formal education and/or demonstrated knowledge and experience in horticulture, botany, environmental science or similar biological, physical science, or natural history with education preferred. Must possess excellent human relations, verbal and written communications skills; the ability to motivate and supervise volunteers and staff; and experience working with children. Ability to deliver programming both in person and in a virtual setting is required. Teaching certificate is preferred but not required. Experience working with volunteers, budget development and administration, and grant writing is preferred. Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in all types of weather required.

Must possess or be eligible for clearances: Pennsylvania State Police Criminal History Report, Pennsylvania Department of Human Services Child Abuse History Clearance, and FBI Criminal History Report.

Job Title: Education Coordinator
Status: Non-exempt, part-time, hourly position
Season: March 15 – November 15, up to 20 hours per week
Probationary Period of 90 days from first day of work
Hourly Wage: $12 – $15/hour to start
Benefits:

  • Eligibility for Overtime at 1.5x for each hour over 40 hours worked per week = immediately
  • Paid Bereavement Leave up to three days available after one month of service
  • Paid Holidays = Good Friday & Independence Day after one year of service
  • Paid Time Off = 5 days of PTO after one year of service
